PRODUCT DESIGN ASSISTANT, CO-OP STUDENT

Standard Function:

To assist with tasks related to estimating, design and production support functions.

Objective:

To assist with reviewing, interpreting, updating, organizing and filing product information in the Design Department.

Description of Position:

Review and interpret product drawings and assist with compiling data required for the quoting and estimating process
Assist with Generating XL documents for Quotation Summaries
Assist with processing Engineering Change Notice (ECN) design updates, ECN log updates, filing etc.
Assist with data input on Engineering Work Requests (Sales inputs/documentation)
Generate Engineering Work Folders
Assist in Organizing/Sorting File Storage (hard copies)
Perform other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Working towards College Diploma or University Degree in a Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technology Program or related field
Experience with AutoCad, Inventor and SolidWorks
Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of sheet metal is an asset.
Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word
Strong math skills and attention to detail
Good organizational and project management skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Team player
Willingness to learn and take on new projects
Creative, problem solver, and able to work with minimal supervision
Team oriented
