Powder Coater – Day Shift

At CBM, we are looking for experienced Powder Coaters to join our day shift team at our metal fabricating plant in Milton, Ontario.

Job Description

Powder Spray Coat product by hand as per work instructions using electrostatic paint guns on a continuously moving line

Set up automatic powder coating guns as per work instructions

Inspect powder coated product to ensure it meets quality standards for thickness, colour and consistency

Load and unload material on and off of a continuously moving conveyor powder coating line

Follow instructions to ensure proper hooks and hanging methods are used

Hang and prepare product for powder coating (mask, plug holes)

Stack product as per work instructions onto skids/racks

Perform visual inspection of product before loading and while unloading from the line

Perform all physical requirements of the job including lifting up to 50 lbs

Perform general material handling

Asist with inventory of powder and other supplies

Assist with preventative and routine maintenance and system tests/checks

General good housekeeping

Maintain standard times

Complete all paperwork and data entry as required

Follow all ISO procedures and maintain quality standards

Follow all safety procedures and policies

Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor and work in other departments as required by production demands

Continual process improvement

Qualifications

2+ years' experience as a Powder Coater of metal products on a continuously moving line

General knowledge of powder coating methods, applications and equipment

Experience in setting up electrostatic paint guns and operating a powder coating line

Experience in performing preventative maintenance and routine tests of the powder coating, wash and ovens

Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions to perform tasks

Good communication and interpersonal skills to work within a team

Mechanical aptitude for operating machinery, tools and equipment

Ability to perform all physical requirements of the job, including moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 lbs

Able to work in a fast-paced environment and keep up with the line and production targets

Ability to use material handling using carts and pump trucks

Follow all safety, ISO and department procedures

Willingness to learn and be trained in the job

Team player willing to work wherever assigned to get the jobs done

Punctual and reliable with a good work ethic
